Jarrell Miller has been treated differently to other fighters and heavily crucified over his failed drugs tests, claims his promoter, Sarah Fina.

The 30-year-old's fight against Britain’s Anthony Joshua in June was called off after he tested positive for three banned substances this week.

Madison Square Garden was the venue of choice for his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight bout against the 29-year-old champion Joshua, who is now looking for a new opponent.

After analysis of a sample taken on March 20, Miller’s license was revoked for the June 1 fight.

Despite initially pleading his innocence, the former kickboxer did remarkably admit he had made a mistake after another adverse finding was declared on Friday.

‘Miller should be banned for life’ - those were the words of some critics regarding the situation.

"Firstly, I do not condone cheating whatsoever," Fina wrote on social media, per BBC Sport.

"Am I upset and disappointed with Jarrell? Absolutely. What Jarrell has done is wrong 100%. But what I won't do is turn my back on him. People make bad choices in life.

"With all of that being said, it is hard for me not to think that he is being nailed to the cross because he is an African-American fighter."

Streaming broadcaster DAZN have recently signed Mexican fighter Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez to a $365m multi-fight deal.

The same Alvarez who was banned for six months after failing two drug tests, something he blamed eating apparently tainted meat for.

"Even the very fighter that was asked to replace Miller, Luis Ortiz, tested for banned substances," Fina added.

Ortiz, 40, has been the preferred replacement, however, we won’t find out who is taking Miller’s place until later this week.

The Cuban tested positive for banned substances in 2017 but escaped a ban due to boxing chiefs discovering he took the drugs for high blood pressure.

Fina said she had also suffered abuse over the issue for being Miller's promoter.

"I can't help but to think that a lot of that has to do with the fact that I am a woman in a male-dominated industry. This is not me playing the victim, but stating facts," she added.
