WrestleMania season is always an exciting time for WWE superstars and fans alike.

Other than the massive events themselves, it's both the Superstar Shake-Up and the NXT call-ups which draw plenty of understandable interest.

CALL-UPS

This year, however, it was slightly different.

The WWE took the strange approach of bringing up a handful of NXT superstars to the main roster well before the post-WrestleMania episodes of Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE.

Instead, we saw the likes of Lacey Evans and EC3 hovering around - leaving it as less of a surprise that they'd eventually be moving up.

That's not to say the weekend wasn't surprising entirely.

We now have Lars Sullivan on the blue brand, The Viking Experience on the red show and all of this sandwiched between AJ Styles and Roman Reigns switching brands made for an exciting couple of weeks in the WWE.

While everyone has their opinions on who has impressed the most or who they're excited to see, former RAW general manager Kurt Angle has weighed in on the conversation with his thoughts on stars that have impressed him the most.

Angle, who lost in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 against Baron Corbin, hosted yet another Facebook Q&A session on his official account, answering fan questions.

When asked which recent NXT call-up has impressed him the most, Angle stated that both Aleister Black and Ricochet have stood out - but admitted that they can be much better when they're not a tag team.

IMPRESSED

According to Rajah, he posted: "I'm really starting to like Aleister Black and Ricochet, but not as a tag team.

"They're good together, but I think they will shine more as singles wrestlers."

"There are talents that have yet to be used -- like Apollo, Gable, and Roode. It's a good time to watch new stars come out of the woodwork."

It's clear that WWE isn't rushing to push Black or Ricochet too far, too soon. Instead, the methodical approach and easing them into life on RAW could fare a lot better for them down the line as singles competitors.

Angle also mentioned that he wants to stick around in WWE to help other WWE superstars where they need help, or even an on-screen manager role down the line.
