Manchester United suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson had the hosts 2-0 up at the break before Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott buried Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in the second half.

The result leaves Man United sixth in the Premier League and it's becoming increasingly unlikely that they'll finish in the top-four this season.

The Red Devils have now lost six of their last eight fixtures in all competitions, but the 4-0 hammering at Everton saw them sink to a new low.

Frankly, the performance wasn't good enough and it was arguably the worst United have played for many, many years.

24-hours later, Paul Pogba has come out to speak about the result and he declared that his team's performance was 'disrespectful'.

"The way we played and the performance of myself, of the team, of everyone is disrespectful," Pogba told Sky Sports News, per the Daily Mail

"We didn't respect ourselves, the club or the fans. Everything went wrong but the most important thing is the mentality that we put on the pitch - that has to change."

As well as addressing his side's result, Pogba also revealed what happened in the dressing room at full-time.

"We let the manager speak, the staff speak and they spoke the truth. They said what happened in the game and it is not respectful for ourselves," he continued.

"What we did on the pitch is not respectful for the team-mates, for the staff, for the people, for the kitman, for everyone.

"They put their life on us, the team and this club. What we showed on the pitch, we did not give them the joy back and that's why we are angry with ourselves."

The midfielder also made a promise to United's fans, suggesting that the team will do everything they can to turn things around.

"I want to say and I know it may not be enough, but the fans want a reaction from the players and the only way to apologise to them is to give everything on the pitch," he said.

"Do our best, create chances, score goals, defend, work for the team and we can even lose games, but with a good performance and pride on the pitch.

"I don't want to be harsh with my words but we don't want to look like we did yesterday because the body language was not good enough for this shirt.

"When you're here, you deserve it and you have to give your life on the pitch. You have to work, you have to sweat for this shirt and you have to give everything."

It's rare for a footballer to come out and speak so passionately after such a poor result, but this reaction shows that Pogba really does care about his club, his manager and his fans.
