PAOK have won their first Greek Super League title in 34 years this season. The Thessaloniki outfit have been the dominant force in 2018/19 with Olympiakos the closest challengers in second place - they are currently five points behind PAOK.One of the key men for the champions has been former Arsenal striker and England youth international Chuba Akpom. The 23-year-old has netted six goals in all competitions and took to social media to celebrate after the title was secured thanks to a 5-0 win over Levadiakos.

“Super League Champions, Wow after 34 years I’m honoured to be a part of making history with this special club,” Akpom tweeted.

“The love and support I’ve received from you fans have been amazing and I honestly appreciate it.

“This moment will stay with me forever (Toumba Stadium).”

A historic day for one of Greece's biggest clubs and the win over Levadiakos produced a very touching moment for PAOK captain Vierinha.

Just one week before the title was sealed, the Portuguese star and talisman picked up an ACL injury which will see him sidelined for around six to nine months.

But the club did not want him to miss out on the title celebrations and actually subbed Vierinha on with a minute to go and the score at 5-0.

The reception he receives from the fans is quite something.

A great moment for the 33-year-old.

Vierinha is primarily a full-back for PAOK, but he still managed to contribute five goals during his 26 league appearances this season.

Footage on social media also showed Vierinha receiving another fantastic ovation from the crowd when celebrating with the trophy after the game.

He's certainly a popular guy.

PAOK will now hope that they can seal qualification for the 2019/20 Champions League after their domestic victory, as they will not enter the competition automatically due to Greece's low coefficient ranking.
