Football is filled with a ridiculous amount of top-class young talent.

In the Premier League, names such as Marcus Rashford, Gabriel Jesus and Declan Rice are just some of the players who have impressed on the big stage in the early stages of their career.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is widely regarded as the best player under the age of 23, already capturing a World Cup and three consecutive Ligue 1 titles with both Monaco and PSG at just 20 years of age.

The amount of money clubs spend on high-profile transfers in recent times has become quite ridiculous, meaning even less established up-and-coming talent are now costing a pretty penny.

Lucky for us, the kind folks over at transfermarkt.co.uk have compiled a list of the top ten most valuable central midfielders under the age of 23.

Some inclusions, namely Ajax's Frenkie de Jong, are to be expected. However, there are certainly some inclusions that'll come as a shock to most fans.

You can check out the full rankings here:

Having already secured a move to Barcelona in the summer, De Jong tops the chart being worth an estimated €75m.

Following closely behind are Barcelona's Arthur and Atletico Madrid's Rodrigo, whose market values both sit at €60m.

Meanwhile, one of the surprise entries comes in the form of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, who sits fourth in the rankings with an estimated market value of €55m.

Lower down the rankings, Wolves' Ruben Neves comes in seventh with an estimated value of €40m, while West Ham's Declan Rice squeezes his way into the top ten with a market value of €35m.

Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi just misses out on a top ten spot despite being valued the same as Rice. Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek's estimated value of €25m also sees him fall short of a top ten spot.
