Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first few months as Manchester United manager couldn't have gone any better.

The Norwegian boss took over with the club in a terrible position.

United were sixth in the Premier League when he took over in December, 11 points off the top four.

But Solskjaer's arrival would spark a resurgence in form, with United losing just once in his first 17 games in charge.

However, since beating Paris Saint-Germain at the start of March, United's progress stalled.

United won just twice in their last eight matches of the season. In that time they knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League and finished sixth in the Premier League.

After a disappointing season, one United fan decided to put every one of the club's first team players into groups in terms of their quality.

He put each player into one of eight categories, including 'Untouchable', 'Squad player' and 'Need selling and replacing'.

Untouchable: David de Gea

World class: Paul Pogba

Class: Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial

Squad player: Fred, Sergio Romero, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Scott McTominay, Eric Bailly

Good potential: Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes, Diogo Dalot

Need selling and replacing: Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia

Just need to leave at any cost: Phil Jones, Chris Smalling

Ashley Young: Ashley Young

It is an interesting list.

De Gea and Pogba are viewed as the two standout players in the team, closely followed by a group of four including Rashford and Martial.

Eight players feature in the 'need selling and replacing group', while Jones and Smalling aren't viewed favorably at all.

Unfortunately for Young, the United fan has such a poor opinion of him that he is placed in a category of his own.

While many United fans have a poor opinion of Young, Gary Neville argued back in April that he is the 'last person he would turn on'.

"Ashley Young has been at the club 10 years, paid very little for him in terms of the market norm, he’s been absolutely work ethic all the way through," he said on the Gary Neville podcast, per the Metro.

"Don’t pick on Ashley Young. He’s the last person I would turn on.

"He’s the one who is actually, to be fair, going out there week in week out, playing in a position that’s relatively foreign to him in the last two or three seasons, he’s absolutely giving his all.

"He’s hurting on the pitch, I can see it.

"Get away from him, start with the ones who set the influence in the dressing room, the ones who have got the capability to be the best in the world."
