Gareth Bale has had a rocky season at Real Madrid.

He's scored just 11 times from 37 games in all competitions and has provided just five assists.

Those numbers certainly aren't what's expected of a 'Galactico' forward and Los Blancos fans are making sure he knows it.

Bale has been subject to whistles and jeers from his own fans throughout Real's dreadful season.

Even though the team as a collective have massively underperformed, the Welshman is taking a brunt of the abuse.

That may be because he was expected to fill the massive void Cristiano Ronaldo's departure left - and that's something he's really failed to do.

Given the rough ride Bale has been given this season, there has been plenty of suggestion that he's close to leaving the Bernabeu.

It's reported that he's not a key part of Zinedine Zidane's plans either, so all signs are pointing towards an exit.

However, according to the latest reports from Spain, the 29-year-old has decided he wants to stay and fight for his place.

AS report that Bale has informed the club that he has no intention of leaving this summer and intends to see out the remainder of his contract - which expires in 2022.

He apparently remains determined to turn things around at Madrid and prove to fans that he belongs in the famous white shirt.

After all, it's been swiftly forgotten that Bale has helped the club to win three Champions Leagues, a Liga title and the Copa del Rey.

Whether his request to stay will be granted is unclear though. It's expected that Madrid will accept any reasonable transfer offers for the player.

But with his expensive wages and high transfer fee, very few other clubs could actually afford Bale, so perhaps we will be seeing him at the Bernabeu again next season.
