On Sunday, we will find out who's been named the Premier League's Player of the Year. There are six names in the running for the league's top individual award. Five of them come from title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City, with Sergio Aguero
Virgil Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling all in the running. The other name on the list is Chelsea's Eden Hazard. There may be six nominations, but two players have dominated the discussion and been named as heavy favourites.
With just a few days to go until the ceremony, it seems to be a two-horse race between Sterling and Van Dijk.
Both men have been essential to their team's title challenge, but for very different reasons.
City's forward Sterling has been one of the key players firing Pep Guardiola's side to the top of the table, while Liverpool would be lost without Van Dijk, who's been a rock at the back.
It's been widely reported that Van Dijk will scoop the award on Sunday, but Gary Lineker believes it should go to Raheem Sterling - for two main reasons.
"It was very close between Van Dijk and Sterling, I think they've been the two standouts," he said on the Premier League Show.
"There are two reasons why I went with Sterling. Van Dijk didn't have the disadvantage of playing in the World Cup, which is exhausting and very difficult the following season.
"What Sterling has done post World Cup, especially having had a bit of stick during the World Cup, is nothing short of remarkable.
"Also, it's easy to be a defender and stop things, rather than create. I find it very difficult ultimately to go for a centre-half!"
So there we have it. It's not too shocking to hear that Lineker, a former striker, has gone for the attacking player this year.
With suggestions that Van Dijk will be the man holding the award in a couple of days time, it appears his view isn't shared by a majority of Premier League players.
But we will only find out for sure at the ceremony on Sunday.
