Many superstars have reportedly been unhappy with WWE recently due to the way which they have been booked. Some have even publicly voiced their concern with the company.

One superstar who has recently done this is Luke Harper. Last week, he tweeted his desire to be released from his current WWE contract.

Harper had opened up on his status in WWE not too long ago, as he believes he has more to offer than what he was being given. He hasn't appeared on either Raw or SmackDown since August last year.

However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Ringside News, the former Wyatt Family's request to be released from his current contract has been denied by the WWE.

WWE has also decided to add on an extra six months to Harper's contract to make up for the ring time he missed last year while he was injured.

What this means is Harper is unlikely to have a chance to leave WWE now until WrestleMania next year.

Announcing publicly that you want to leave WWE has worked for superstars in the past, like Tye Dillinger, but it appears it hasn't worked for the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion this time around.

Harper suffered a torn bicep around SummerSlam last year and also used the opportunity to have wrist surgery.

This surgery sidelined the former Intercontinental Champion from August 2018 to when he returned to in-ring action in March 2019.

However, Harper did reveal that he had been cleared to compete since February, but wasn't used as he wasn't booked back into programming by WWE.

Since he's been cleared to compete, the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion hasn't been seen on either Raw or SmackDown.

He was on WWE's Worlds Collide show (which was taped at WrestleMania Axxess) and he was part of the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35.

Harper hasn't been on WWE weekly television since August 2018 when he and Rowan lost the SmackDown Tag Team titles to The New Day.
