Dean Ambrose had his last match for WWE last weekend alongside his Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin.

The Shield won the match with The Hounds of Justice hitting their iconic triple powerbomb and The Lunatic Fringe hitting his Dirty Deeds finisher one final time inside a WWE ring.

Ambrose gave a heartwarming final speech after the match, putting over Rollins in the process for his WrestleMania success as well as Reigns for beating leukaemia before he exited the ring.

The former Intercontinental Champion said as well during an interview with WWE before his final match that he will be taking a hiatus from wrestling for a while too.

While some WWE fans are hoping this wasn't the final time we would see The Moral Compass inside a WWE ring, he might not be done with wrestling completely.

Ever since it was announced that Ambrose would be leaving the WWE, he has been heavily linked with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), but neither side has confirmed or denied the reports.

Current AEW wrestler and former WWE superstar Chris Jericho was asked during an interview with The Express if he believes the former WWE Champion will join him in AEW in the near future.

Jericho said on Ambrose, via NoDQ: "I’m sure if he wants to come to AEW he’d be more than welcome.

"When you get a great performer, it doesn’t matter what company they were before because they’re in a top level."

Jericho also added that he wouldn't be surprised if Ambrose keeps to his word and takes a break from the wrestling business.

He said: “It’s a grind, and not just the physical aspect of it but there’s a mental standpoint."

One of the main reasons why Ambrose has left WWE is because he was unhappy with the creative decision for his character.

No matter where he goes now, The Lunatic Fringe will be one of the biggest names on the independent circuit and will likely have a lot of influence over the booking of his character in the ring, even in AEW if he was to join.

Even if Ambrose does join AEW, he's unlikely to have a match at their first event, Double or Nothing, which takes place next month on May 25.
