Barcelona are on the brink of winning another La Liga title.

Say what you like about their Champions League performances in the last five years, but the Blaugrana are experts when it comes to winning the Spanish league.

Barcelona have dominated the domestic competitions over the last decade - winning seven of the last 10 leagues titles - and have won a slew of Copa del Rey trophies on the side.

Now, they are on the verge of securing yet another league title, potentially functioning as the first part of a treble with the Copa del Rey final and Champions League semi-finals to come.

In truth, Barcelona have barely been challenged this season and the plight of Real Madrid allowed them to make a flying start to the campaign.

Barcelona's La Liga charge

The Catalans have the opportunity to secure the trophy at home to Levante on Saturday, where three points are needed to kill off Atletico Madrid's challenge.

Victory would be an incredibly proud moment for Arturo Vidal who has enjoyed a successful last eight years, to say the very least.

In fact, Vidal is now closing in on the record for most consecutive league wins in Europe, which is currently held by Ljubomir Fejsa who launched a nine-year streak.

Eight league titles in a row

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is perhaps the most famous for league domination, but now his run of eight consecutive years will surely be matched by Vidal at the weekend.

The Chilean won four consecutive Serie A crowns with Juventus, before securing a hat-trick of number one spots at Bayern Munich and now boasts commanding La Liga lead at Barcelona.

That's not mention the fact he's won the Copa America twice in the same timespan, making him one of the most decorated active players in Europe right now.

His debut season at the Nou Camp hasn't exactly been vintage and criticism has been harsh at times but Vidal is in the right place to continue his love for league football.

It's been rumoured that Vidal could extend his stay until 2022, providing him with the perfect opportunity to go all out for the current European record.

He will also be hoping to fare better on the continental stage, having failed to bag himself a Champions League medal despite a final appearance against Barcelona in 2015.

There is a positive atmosphere around Barcelona at the moment and even in the absence of peak tiki-taka football, they've asserted themselves as one of world football's dominant forces.

A win against Levante, a final victory versus Valencia as well as a Champions League charge and Vidal will have more than eight consecutive league titles to celebrate.
