Petr Cech has had a remarkable career in football. The Czech goalkeeper joined Chelsea in 2004 and he would go on to be one of their best signings of the Premier League era.He enjoyed 11 successful seasons at the club.In total, he made 494 appearances and would establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. In that time he won 15 trophies with the club, including four Premier League's and four FA Cup's.

He left in 2015 to join Arsenal but, despite joining a rival club, he's still held in high regard by Chelsea fans.

The 36-year-old's performances have declined in recent years and he is set to hang up his gloves in the summer.

But what will he do after retiring from playing professional football?

According to the Telegraph, a return to Chelsea may well be on the cards.

They report that Chelsea are planning a summer shake-up designed to win round disillusioned fans.

Chelsea plan to offer Cech a role in the backroom staff and believe they can tempt him back to the club.

While it is unknown exactly what role he will be given, the Telegraph speculate that he could be given a job within a new technical set-up.

Chelsea have not yet replaced ex-technical director Michael Emenalo, who left the club in December 2017.

And it is speculated that Cech could be asked to take on elements of the job Emenalo left behind as part of a newly-created role.

It would come as welcome news to many Chelsea fans if Cech were to return to the club.

The Czech Republic international was an incredible servant to the club and if Chelsea do want to get disgruntled fans back on side, securing Cech's return could well help.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's shutout against Huddersfield on Friday night meant Alisson is just the fifth goalkeeper to record 20 or more clean sheets in a Premier League season.

Cech currently holds the record, having managed 24 clean sheets in the 2004/05 campaign.

And the Arsenal goalkeeper was quick to congratulate Alisson on Twitter after Liverpool defeated Huddersfield 5-0.

"Congratulations to Allison for reaching 20 clean sheets ( for now ) for the season ! That takes some doing ! #gkunion".
