Despite the pay-per-view schedule change this year, there's always the same sense of excitement heading towards to Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

This year, there's even more excitement as reports emerged earlier in the week that the WWE has big plans for the men's ladder match winner.

MONEY IN THE BANK

It's being claimed that the company has big plans for the winner of the briefcase, after an underwhelming couple of years in the form of Braun Strowman and Baron Corbin.

Already, the card is shaping up to be an unmissable event following WrestleMania - and the main event is proof of that.

Seth Rollins defends the Universal Championship against Monday Night RAW's newest acquisition, AJ Styles.

While Roman Reigns battles Elias, Becky Lynch will be pulling double duty as The Man defends the SmackDown Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair and the RAW version against Lacey Evans.

It's always the ladder matches that leave fans on the edge of their seats. Although the company is yet to officially announce the names competing in the contests, local advertisements have shown the official graphics and have leaked the participants.

In the men's Money in the Bank ladder match, seven exciting names are set to do battle, with not many bona fide main event stars are competing like in previous years. So it could be the platform the winner needs to officially enter the WWE or Universal Championship picture.

LEAKED

As you can see below, Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, Aleister Black, Andrade Almas and Lars Sullivan.

Clearly, it's a big opportunity for all of these stars with the WWE likely to push the winner to the moon.

On the surface, it looks as if it could be the perfect match for McIntyre so that he can get his hands on a world championship. At the same time, WWE is known for its curveballs and a more left-field pick can't be ruled out.

In the women's Money in the Bank ladder match, eight female athletes are set to feature.

Tamina, Natalya, Naomi, Bayley, former winner Carmella, Ember Moon, Sonya Deville and, rather surprisingly, Sasha Banks are shown in the graphic as the performer looking to become Ms. Money in the Bank.

With The Boss' frustrations seeing her take time away from WWE with her future up in the air, it could be the WWE's way of keeping her happy by putting her into the main event scene again.
