Fulham’s Denis Odoi was knocked out cold on Saturday afternoon following a sickening collision with teammate Maxime Le Marchand.
The 30-year-old was left unconscious on the Craven Cottage turf following the incident, which occurred in the 20th minute of the match.
Odoi went to hit the ball back to goalkeeper Sergio Rico, while Le Marchand attempted to clear the ball down the pitch. The lack of communication had dire consequences for Odoi.
The Belgian defender was given oxygen by medical staff after it quickly became apparent that he was in need of assistance.
The force of the impact from Le Marchand’s attempted clearance led to his head bouncing worryingly off the turf after he briefly lost consciousness.
