It's been three years now since Ryback acrimoniously departed WWE.

'The Big Guy' looked as though he was in-line for a major push in late 2012, just a few months after debuting and running through various jobbers.

After several matches against the likes of CM Punk and John Cena for the WWE Championship over the next six months, nothing came of it for Ryback and he spent the next few years in mid-card purgatory.

Ryback's last WrestleMania match came just a month before his departure, where he was defeated by the much-smaller Kalisto on the 'Mania 32 pre-show.

The night after his rematch with the luchador at Payback a month after the Show of Shows, Ryback left Raw and never returned to WWE, stating that a lack of equal pay and creative issues as a reason for his disillusion with the company.

It took three months for the two parties to go their separate ways, and since then he's competed on the independent scene alongside the production of his weekly podcast.

Never one to shy away with his feelings, Ryback took part in a Reddit 'Ask Me Anything', and amongst one of the questions he replied to stated if he had any regrets leaving WWE.

His response? 'Best decision of my life', per WrestlingInc.

No surprise that he has said that considering many more superstars have followed in his footsteps in recent years and split ways with WWE.

On the subject of superstars like Luke Harper and Sasha Banks voicing their frustrations and wanting to leave the company, Ryback feels they will be punished for their actions but if all superstars aired their concerns at the same time, then 'change will happen'.

Another subject that came up was All Elite Wrestling, with Chris Jericho stating that not all former WWE superstars will be considered.

The Big Guy says though that he will speak to Cody Rhodes when the time is right.

“Once I’m healthy I will speak to Cody if I feel I can contribute in a meaningful way," said Ryback, per NoDQ.

"They are going to do very well over time I believe. They have an opportunity to do wrestling the way it always should have been done.”
