Wladimir Klitschko has dropped the biggest hint yet about a return to boxing, on the two-year anniversary of his bout with Anthony Joshua.Klitschko’s night with the Englishman has, until now, been considered as the Ukrainian’s final fight, having retired after his defeat. But in a tweet posted to Joshua today he has signalled that his time in the heavyweight division may not be over just yet.The former heavyweight fighter said: “Although, I didn’t win the titles on April 29th 2017, for me, it was one of the best days in my long boxing career (so far).”The post included a picture of him alongside Joshua at the weigh-in the night before they battled it out in a boxing classic at Wembley Stadium.

“Thanks @anthonyfjoshua for being the best opponent and part of my obsession to become a champion again! #obsessed,” Klitschko also said in the post.

With Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury seemingly avoiding each other, fans would love to see Klitschko return to the ring and take on Joshua again after their enthralling encounter last time.

The post sparked a huge response on Twitter, with many suggesting Klitschko as an opponent for Joshua on June 1.

Nobody has been announced as Joshua’s new opponent for his US debut after Jarrell Miller failed multiple drugs tests, but it is fair to say it almost certainly will not be Klitschko in the ring with the Englishman that night.

There have been numerous rumours of the Ukrainian returning to boxing, but none have materialised, with the man himself even dismissing the claims on a couple of occasions.

However, reports in Germany have suggested that a deal has been proposed to the 42-year-old by DAZN, which includes a three-fight mega deal worth £60 million.

Could that be enough to persuade him to return?
