We will probably never see a Premier League title race like the one we’re witnessing right now.The fact that Liverpool are set to reach 97 points having lost just once all season and still finish runners-up pretty much sums it up.That’s because Manchester City are on course to pip Jurgen Klopp’s side by just one point. If that’s the case, it will be so so cruel on the Reds.If missing out on their first ever Premier League trophy by one point is unfortunate enough, missing out by 4cm is even more agonising.

But that could well be the case.

Liverpool’s only league defeat came at the Etihad as City triumphed 2-1.

But Liverpool were 11mm from taking the lead when John Stones cleared the ball against Ederson only to then somehow prevent it from crossing the line.

Goal-line technology showed just how close it really was.

Then, on Sunday, City were struggling to break down Burnley until Sergio Aguero’s 63rd-minute strike crossed the line by 29.5mm.

Those two incidents look set to have decided the Premier League title.

And City’s Twitter account decided to take the opportunity to remind everyone of that fact.

On Monday evening, they tweeted a custom-made image of the two incidents titled ‘Fine margins.’

And it certainly caused a stir.

Many Liverpool fans accused City of ‘lacking class’ with their tweet.

Meanwhile, some rival supporters replied with a screenshot of the ‘fine margin’ of Aguero being offside in injury-time as City crashed out of the Champions League to Spurs.

With the title-race on such a knife edge, it’s no wonder fans are getting a bit touchy on social media.

It may just look a little bit awkward if City slip-up against either Leicester or Brighton now…
