Anthony Joshua has had his say on what we can expect to see in the potentially mouth-watering heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois this summer.

Joyce and Dubois have been ordered to fight for the vacant British Heavyweight title and a notice was recently put out by the British Boxing Board of Control, declaring that the fight must take place before the end of July.

Two unbeaten fighters who are at the relatively early stages of their prospective careers very rarely take such a risk by facing each other without more being at stake.

But that will likely only generate more interest in the clash between the pair.

Joshua has come up against both of them in sparring sessions to prepare for his own fights and he thinks Joyce might just have the physical edge.

“Joyce can out-work Dubois if Dubois doesn’t stop him early," the world champion told Boxing Social. "If it is an early fight I go with Dubois, because he is a puncher.

“I think it will be a late round stoppage or a win on points, because Joyce is really fit.

“They have different styles. Dubois hasn’t got the engine and Joyce hasn’t got the power. Joyce is more experienced though. He’s basically an Olympic champion.”

Dubois was in action last week and beat Richard Lartey with a fourth-round KO at Wembley Arena to extend his record to 11-0. And ahead of his potential fight against Joyce, he told BT Sport:

"If I just keep winning and keep progressing, I'm getting closer to these guys. If I keep winning, then I'll be sharing a ring with these guys soon.

"Definitely, I'll beat him (Joyce). As long as the preparation is right, I stay focused, listen to the people around me, I'll beat anyone I believe."

Joyce, who watched the fight, felt Dubois looked a bit vulnerable at times before eventually coming through to maintain his winning record.

The 33-year-old said: "He got a little bit troubled by Lartey at some points, but he took him out of there.

"It's an option (fighting Dubois). I've got a fight in Stevenage on May 18. That's a good warm-up, then I should be out again in July.

"Potentially, I'm going to speak to Frank (Warren) and my managers and we'll see what's out there."
