Lionel Messi produced a second-half masterclass against Liverpool on Wednesday night. The mercurial Argentine scored Barcelona's second and third goals in a 3-0 win - but it was far from comfortable until the 75th minute. But that's when Messi sprung into life. Luis Suarez saw his effort come back off the crossbar, but his captain was on hand to control the rebound and walk it into the net. Messi scored again seven minutes later and his second finish was out of this world as he curled a long-range free-kick past Alisson in the Liverpool net.And with his brace, the Barca number 10 has reached a ridiculous landmark.

Messi has now scored 600 goals for the Spanish club during his glittering career - and he's showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

But what's even more remarkable, is he's reached this milestone exactly 14 years to the day that he scored his first.

You just can't make it up.

Messi's late masterclass sees Barca with one foot in the Champions League final and he's given Liverpool an almost impossible test to turn it around.

The Argentine's brace added to Luis Suarez's first-half finish as the Blaugrana take a commanding lead to Anfield next week.
