Liverpool became the latest English team to witness Lionel Messi's brilliance at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night.

The little Argentine scored two late goals to put Barcelona in complete control of their semi-final tie.

With his brace, Messi has now scored against every Premier League team he's faced in the Champions League.

His first was a stroke of luck as Luis Suarez saw an effort come back off the crossbar before landing at the feet of Messi, who walked the ball into an empty net.

There was nothing lucky about the second goal though. From 35 yards, the Barca captain curled an inch-perfect free-kick past Alisson and into the top corner.

It was one of Messi's greatest free-kicks - and it capped off another brilliant display - one that brought Camp Nou supporters to their feet.

But there was someone in the crowd who may have enjoyed the performance more than most. That was Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy.

The defender, who's playing a rather small part in the title race after falling out of Pep Guardiola's plans, took some time off to attend Wednesday's game.

And after Messi had finished tearing Liverpool apart, Mendy was filmed swearing at a camera while celebrating the misfortune of his Premier League rivals. Check it out below.

Talk about subtlety. It didn't take long for the video to appear on social media either and Mendy is facing a lot of backlash.

Many Man City fans have slammed him as embarrassing, suggesting that his behaviour falls short of that expected of a professional footballer - especially one that features so irregularly anyway.

His celebration has caused quite a stir - and Mendy risks further annoying the Liverpool fanbase if he picks up a Premier League winners medal in May too.
