Gypsy King Tyson Fury has appeared to criticise the decision for Andy Ruiz to replace Jarrell Miller for Anthony Joshua's US debut next month. Many fans have been calling for Fury, the former unified WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion and Joshua, the current unified world heavyweight champion, to meet in the ring in a contest bound to attract more viewers than AJ's bout next month. While most have voiced their disappointment at the announcement, Fury took a more creative route to do so, uploading a picture to his Instagram comparing Ruiz with a character from popular film 'Up'.Posting to over 1.5 million followers, the image Fury shared has been spread across all social media in a reaction Ruiz wouldn't have expected when he signed up for the fight.Ruiz has promised to ruin Joshua's hopes of becoming undisputed champion when he challenges the Brit at Madison Square Garden, in what will be his first fight across the Atlantic.

The Californian-based Mexican has one previous title fight against Joseph Parker in 2016, in a narrow majority decision loss to the Kiwi boxer.

Fighting to become Mexico's first world heavyweight champion, Ruiz can thank AJ's original opponent Miller for the chance, who faces a six-month ban for a failed drug test.

"This is my chance to make history," said Ruiz Jr. "I want to be one of those greats like Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis. I want to be in that category.

"I think the fight is going toe-to-toe, two guys smashing each other's faces. I'm going in there to throw combinations like I've never done before, to improve my speed.

"A lot of people underestimated me, and I'm used to that. My whole life people underrated me so I'm just going in there to take all. I'm not going in there scared and I'm not going in there nervous, I'm going to go in there mad and to take what's mine.

"When I do pull out this win, everything is going to change. I'm going to bring the titles back to Mexico, it's going to mean everything. I'm going to be able to change my whole family's lives; my life and all my kids'. It's a win-win situation right now, but the main thing is to win the fight and make history."

Renowned for his remarkable hand speed and explosive power, Ruiz provides a fresh challenge to AJ, who is confident he'll remain unbeaten after his maiden fight in the States.

"Ruiz Jr is a different kind of challenge but one I embrace," said Joshua. "We have worked in the boxing gym week on week and whoever is put in front of me at Madison Square Garden on June 1 will be dispatched in style. The rent will be collected."
