Wednesday night's clash between Barcelona and Liverpool belonged to Lionel Messi.A tight game was expected at the Camp Nou, yet a brace from Barca's star man sealed a 3-0 victory in the Champions League semi-finals.Liverpool have it all to do in next week's second leg as they look to reach the final for a second year running.Luis Suarez opened the scoring before Messi scored a seven-minute brace late on, with one of his goals coming from a free-kick 35 yards out.Messi drew a foul from Fabinho before finding the top corner with a free-kick that no goalkeeper in the world would have saved. It was a stunning strike that even Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp couldn't help but smile about on the sidelines.Liverpool's players struggled to contain Messi - at one point Virgil van Dijk called on his teammates to help him - and one man who was out for revenge was James Milner.Back in 2015, during a Champions League game between Barcelona and Manchester City at the Camp Nou, Messi humiliated Milner by putting him on his backside with a nutmeg.Milner wasn't the first or last to be nutmegged by Messi, but it's something no player wishes to experience. So when Liverpool travelled to face Barcelona, Milner must have had that nutmeg in the back of his mind.He started in a midfield three alongside Fabinho and Naby Keita and it wasn't long before the 33-year-old exacted his revenge on Messi by taking him out. When Messi was tackled by Andy Robertson and the ball went out of play, Milner came charging in with a very late tackle that sent the Argentine flying. The video below shows Milner getting nutmegged by Messi in 2015 and then getting his own back on Wednesday night.

Milner managed to escape a booking for his challenge after pleading to the referee that he didn't mean it, but the Liverpool man knew exactly what he was doing.

In the end it was Messi who had the last laugh as he scored twice and and Barcelona put one foot in the Champions League final.
