It's been a tough week for Liverpool after a season of brilliance. The Reds increased the pressure on Manchester City last Friday evening when they thrashed Huddersfield 5-0 at Anfield. That result moved them back to the top of the Premier League and there was genuine hope that Sean Dyche and Burnley could take points off City on the Sunday.Sadly for them, Pep Guardiola's men got the job done, with Sergio Aguero's goal giving the Citizens a priceless 1-0 win at Turf Moor.Liverpool then made the trip to Barcelona for their Champions League semi-final and were duly beaten 3-0 by a Lionel Messi-inspired Blaugrana in the Camp Nou.

It now looks a distinct possibility that this brilliant Reds side will end the 2018/19 season without a trophy.

That scenario would fill their many rivals with joy and it seems their city enemies Everton were already having a little giggle prior to their home game against Burnley tonight.

An image appeared on social media appearing to show a stall outside Goodison Park selling scarfs with Messi's name on it.

The pettiness levels really are off the charts here.

Impressive trolling from Toffees fans.

It's not been the easiest of seasons for Everton, but Marco Silva appears to be steering the club in the right direction after their mid-season wobble.

Their team is young and hungry and come the end of the season, their 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Goodison could be the result that saw the Reds lose their grip on the title.

Jurgen Klopp's side have not dropped a point in the Premier League since, winning seven games on the bounce.

City have actually managed 12 wins on the spin, which just goes to show how ridiculous the quality at the top of the league has been this season.
