Manchester United's season has certainly been a rollercoaster of events.

From the woes under Jose Mourinho to the joys that came with the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And then back to despair as Solskjaer's honeymoon period came to abrupt end.

The Red Devils are currently sixth with 65 points, and still have a slim chance of making the top four with just two games of the league season to go.

The Norwegian has seen his side lose seven of his last nine games in charge, in a terrible run that has included two defeats to Barcelona as they were knocked out of the Champions League, and two defeats to Wolves - including an FA Cup loss.

They arguably have the easiest run in out of the top six clubs, facing already relegated Huddersfield and the only team in the relegation zone yet to be confirmed, Cardiff.

One player who has struggled severely is goalkeeper David de Gea, the 28-year-old - who has won the club's Player of the Year award four out of the last five years - has been at fault for three goals in his last four games.

This is disastrous considering the Spaniard had only made three mistakes which led to goals in 123 games prior.

Solskjaer has voiced his support for the 'keeper and said he will remain between the sticks for the remainder of the season.

However, per the Telegraph, Real Madrid - who are looking for a way to lure Paul Pogba from United's clutches - are willing to give Solskjaer Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas as part of a potential deal for the Frenchman.

It is rumoured that despite his bad form, De Gea could still be on the way to Paris Saint-Germain if the Spaniard continues to stall over a new contract.

It's funny how Real Madrid looked the favourites to claim De Gea's signature, and now could merely be providing United with a replacement for the former Atletico Madrid stopper in order to secure a Pogba transfer.
