Liverpool kept their hopes of winning a first league title in 29 years alive on Saturday night with a dramatic 3-2 win away to Newcastle United.

Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah goals had twice put the visitors in front but they were pegged back on both occasions by efforts from Christian Atsu and Salomon Rondon respectively.

However, two Liverpool substitutes combined in the 86th-minute as Divock Origi nodded in Xherdan Shaqiri's free-kick to earn a Jurgen Klopp's men a precious victory.

The German manager, like Liverpool fans, went through a range of emotions, from unhappiness at some of the tackles on Salah to pure ecstasy after Origi's late winner.

However, the ultimate feeling was one of relief and that was clear for all to see when Klopp swore as he described the Belgian's goal in his post-match interview.

Klopp praises non-nervous Liverpool

Talking to Sky Sports, Klopp seemed extremely impressed by his players' ability to not show nerves at St James' Park, despite the pressure of knowing a draw would feel like a defeat.

"Three games in six days. This is just... wow. Really hard," the 51-year-old stated. "And then these boys today did it (performed) like they did - I couldn't. I didn't see anybody being nervous."

Klopp added: "It's such an important lesson for us, that it's possible (to win) like this. And then, of course, the goal. That's how it is."

Klopp swears in Sky Sports interview

Totally getting caught up in the moment of his side's win, Klopp dropped an F-bomb, saying: "Shaq; brilliant free-kick and what a header (from Origi); f***ing unbelievable."

Check it out in the video below:

Sky Sports interviewer Geoff Shreeves tried to make Klopp aware that he shouldn't have swore when he replied: "Steady with the language, Jurgen."

The Liverpool boss, who is yet to win a trophy at Anfield, then responded: "Oh, yeah, you have to beep it (him swearing) out or whatever, or are we live? We are not live?!"

Luckily for Jurgen, the interview wasn't live and it gave Sky time to add a bleep over his slip of the tongue but he won't care in the slightest should Origi's goal contribute to a title triumph.

How the title race looks now

Liverpool's win at Newcastle means they now sit on 94 points ahead of the visit of Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season - but it's still in Manchester City's hands.

Pep Guardiola's champions are two points behind Klopp's side, having played a game less, and victories over Leicester City on Monday and Brighton will see them retain their title.
