Unlike in other parts of the world - South America, in particular - diving in football is still very much frowned upon in England. However, it’s impossible to name a single English football club who haven’t, at one time or another, been guilty of simulation.Footballers - yes, including many English players - will go to ground in an attempt to deceive the referee if it results in their team receiving an advantage. The Football Association introduced retrospective reviews a couple of years ago in a bid to eradicate diving from English football.Players found guilty of simulation by a panel are now hit with a two-game ban.

But has it stopped the problem of diving in the Premier League? The answer, of course, is a resounding no.

It seems there’s a new diving controversy every week in England’s top division.

One player who has found himself at the centre of controversy more than most this season is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

But, surprisingly, the Egyptian forward has not received a single booking for diving this term.

In fact, no Liverpool player has been booked for simulation since the season got underway back in August.

This season’s biggest divers are actually Arsenal who, with six yellow cards for simulation, are two clear of the team second on the list, which is Tottenham.

The Sun have revealed the worst culprits for diving in the Premier League this term and they are as follows:

Arsenal – 6
Tottenham – 4
Huddersfield – 2
Southampton – 2
Burnley – 1
Chelsea – 1
Crystal Palace – 1
Everton – 1
Fulham – 1
Leicester – 1
Manchester City – 1
West Ham – 1
Wolves – 1
Liverpool – 0
Manchester United – 0

We can assume that the five unlisted clubs have also avoided yellow cards for diving this season.

The Sun have also named the players who have been punished with a yellow card for simulation this term.

Only two players have been booked twice for diving: Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi and Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The other Arsenal players booked for simulation are Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who received his yellow card during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Brighton.

Here’s the full list of this season’s Premier League divers:
