Watford have recalled striker Liam Henderson from League One side Colchester.

Henderson joined United in September but made just nine substitute appearances without scoring and has returned with the Hornets keen for him to feature on a more regular basis.

Colchester boss John Ward said: "We left Liam out against Leyton Orient as he's due to go back to Watford. They're keen for him to get out and play some games and, although he would like to stay here, he knows that he needs to play games as well."

He added: "He has really enjoyed being here and being around the first team squad, and I will certainly be keeping an eye on his progress because he's not only a good player, but he's been a good lad whilst he's been here."
