What a night in Liverpool. There have some memorable Champions League evenings at Anfield, but we're not sure anything will compare to their 4-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday night.Building on their flashes of brilliance during the first leg, Liverpool flew out of the blocks with a goal from Divock Origi, just days after his dramatic winner at Newcastle United.A heroic defensive performance from the home side was enough to keep Barcelona quiet and the game was completely turned on its head by Georginio Wijnaldum's brace. Then, thanks to a moment of inspiration from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Origi bagged his second goal of the night and sent Liverpool through to the Champions League final.

Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona

Frankly, it was a game we'll be talking about for decades and now Liverpool will wait to see whether Tottenham or Ajax will be joining them in Madrid.

For the time being, though, Liverpool can really enjoy the moment and there is arguably no one more worthy of the celebrations than Jurgen Klopp himself.

Klopp's Liverpool seem destined to miss out on the Premier League title, despite accumulating enough points to beat every Manchester United side in the competition's history.

Mourinho waxes lyrical about Klopp

However, reaching a second consecutive European final will be a massive boost and has even earned Klopp some praise from a rather unexpected source.

None other than Jose Mourinho was on punditry duties for beINSport and - despite criticising Klopp's trophy drought in the past - pinned all the credit on Liverpool's manager.

Mourinho explained: "I have to say that for me, this has one name – Jurgen.

"This is not about tactics, this is not about philosophy, this is about heart and soul and the fantastic empathy he [Klopp] creates with that group of players.

"This is about him. This is a reflection of his personality, don't give up, his fighting spirit.

"He's not crying because he's missing a player, he's not crying because they're playing 50 or 60 games a season.

"Everything I think today is about Jurgen's mentality."

Incredibly high praise from Mourinho, but can you really argue you with him?

You only need to look at the footage of Klopp amongst his Liverpool players at full-time to see the camaraderie he's built on Merseyside - it really is something special.

It's for the that reason, as well as the progress in terms of results, that sacking Klopp would seem so nonsensical despite the threat of no trophies in four years.

However, even if that remains the case, you get the feeling that Klopp is building something remarkable at the club and Tuesday night was just the latest reminder of that fact.

Besides, you're clearly doing something right when even Mourinho is cracking a smile.
