WWE are proving a tough hand to deal with when it comes to talents and their contracts recently.

It seems as though more superstars than ever are wanting to leave the company, with some being more successful in their attempts than others.

The likes of Tye Dillinger and Hideo Itami have departed in recent months, but there's also a host of other disgruntled superstars behind the scenes.

Former Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival reportedly asked for their release, but it was rejected amidst the obvious link to All Elite Wrestling.

New contracts have been said to be offered to both Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder but as of now, they are yet to accept them and it's unlikely that they will, despite being in excess of $500,000 a year.

Just a few weeks ago, Luke Harper announced that he had asked for his release, but again this was rejected and WWE have since added six months onto his contract that was due to expire in November.

WWE are also playing hard-ball with Sasha Banks, who apparently is disillusioned with life on the road and the two parties are at a 'stalemate' in regards to moving forward.

Interesting times indeed, but it seems a bit-part player in 2019 is getting their own way and departing in the near future.

Former ECW world champion Rhyno is set to leave WWE in July when his contract expires, and he has hardly been used at all in the past year, his last appearance coming in the Kick-Off Show battle royal at WrestleMania 35.

What was really telling though about WWE's current intentions is what they offered Rhyno to stay.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Rhyno revealed that the company had offered 'more than double his downside' to stay, per Cageside Seats.

But with no guarantee he would be used, even at live events, the veteran is taking his talents to the independent scene and other promotions rather than sit at home to be paid, and he's stated he wants to 'help other talents improve'.

A recent report stated that Rhyno's salary in mid-2018 was $500,000, so if the WWE were really going to offer him $1 million a year just to stay at home, that proves a few things about the company - that they have too much money and are desperate to keep just about anyone.

There's a good chance that Rhyno could turn up at Ring Of Honor, IMPACT, maybe even All Elite Wrestling as an experienced hand, and it says a lot about his commitment to wrestling that he would rather still work than take a guaranteed huge paycheck to do nothing.
