Amir Khan has given his thoughts on who he thinks British boxing rival Kell Brook will be fighting next.

Brook was in the crowd at Khans fight with Terence Crawford which took place on April 20 at Madison Square Garden.

The bout saw Crawford defend his WBO welterweight title and the debate quickly turned to who was has the potential to dethrone him.

Khan has been linked with fighting Brook for years but thinks his British rival is lining up to face Crawford next.

But believes that Brook was there to see his American opponent for a very good reason.

“I didn’t physically see Kell Brook at the fight or after, but I knew he was there,” Khan said when speaking to World Boxing News.

“I didn’t see him. But anyway, I’m hearing he’s fighting Crawford next. I think they just don’t have that many opponents for Crawford.

“They might just take the Brook fight. I think there’s some truth in that. I believe he could face Crawford next.”

Khan feels that Brook is the best option Crawford has at his disposal.

The Brit has an impressive 38-2 record but he would have to do what hasn't been done before if he wants to wrestle the title belt off the 31-year-old American.

“If you think about it, after Kell Brook who else is there? Who is a recognised name that he can fight (on Top Rank / ESPN) this year?

“I mean, Kell Brook has fought some decent names. Brook is probably the only guy out there who has fought decent names and is available."

“He’s been in the ring with some big names like Gennadiy Golovkin. Also, he has no fight lined up. The fact he’s not fighting on June 1st is probably because Crawford wants to fight him.

“I think they’ll just use him as just another big name for Crawford’s record as there’s nobody else available,” he concluded.
