We’ve reached the finishing line and after 37 exhilarating weeks of this Premier League season, there is just one more remaining.

May 12th is the day that is marked in everyone’s diary and it is the one that will finally reveal who goes on to be crowned champions.

In the blue corner are the holders Manchester City and in the red corner are the challengers Liverpool, these two heavyweights have given their absolute all over the past nine months and although both are worthy winners, only one outfit will be fortunate enough to lift the trophy.

With all the other matters all but sewed up, it means that our full attention will be on the title race.

However, that does not mean there isn’t money to be made elsewhere and with that mind, here are our 10 top Premier League tips for this weekend.

SUNDAY 12 MAY

BRIGHTON VS MANCHESTER CITY

After events on Saturday night, we always knew that the title race was going to go down to the final day. However, whether Manchester City started that day first or second, was a question that couldn’t be answered until Monday evening.

It was another tense affair at the Etihad, but once again City came out on top by just a single goal and they now will look to secure the title, as they travel to the South Coast on Sunday to face Brighton.

The fact the Seagulls are no longer concerned by the threat of relegation will play into the hands of Pep Guardiola and City will undoubtedly be huge favourites to win this game. (GMB odds - Man City to win by two goals 6/5)

BURNLEY VS ARSENAL

There are two things on the agenda for Arsenal this coming Sunday. One, is an emphatic win at Turf Moor against Burnley and two, hoping that local rivals Tottenham suffer a similar sized reverse when they play host to Everton.

If those two factors somehow combine, then Arsenal’s incredibly faint hopes of snatching a top four place will have been resuscitated. However, with the Gunners picking up just one point from the last 12 that have been on offer, not even a win against the Clarets is a foregone conclusion.

With Arsenal requiring victory by a large margin, they are surely going to need Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to be firing on all cylinders. (GMB odds - Aubameyang to score first 15/4)

CRYSTAL PALACE VS BOURNEMOUTH

A meeting between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth may look like a dead rubber on paper, but with 12th playing host to 13th on Sunday, these two sides will still be going out to earn maximum points in order to finish as high up the table as possible.

The reason being that an additional rung on the league ladder means a greater amount of prize money, and for these two outfits, any additional transfer funds in the off-season will be very much welcomed.

Both teams picked up victories during last Saturday’s action and with their respective tails up, this could be a game that garners goals. (GMB odds - Over 3.5 goals 7/5)

FULHAM VS NEWCASTLE

Fulham’s purple patch of form came to an end last weekend after an away defeat to Wolves, and although the West London outfit would not have been expected to get anything from their trip to Molineux, a positive result would have certainly aided Scott Parker’s hopes of full time employment.

With that in mind, he will look for the perfect send off in his stint as interim Fulham manager when he goes up against one of his former clubs Newcastle, and one should not forget that the Magpies have managerial uncertainty of their own.

Much has been made of whether Rafael Benitez will stay on Tyneside and he will look to end this impressive campaign with a win. However, you get the feeling that home advantage tips this one in Fulham’s favour. (GMB odds - Fulham to win and BTTS 33/10)

LEICESTER VS CHELSEA

Leicester’s hopes of a top seven finish came to an end on Monday night after defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad, and although the Foxes gave a good account of themselves, there was an air of inevitability regarding the final outcome.

Vincent Kompany’s rocket propelled strike was the difference, and unfortunately for Liverpool fans, their one time beloved manager Brendan Rodgers could not perform the biggest of favours for his former employers.

Sunday sees them finish the season against a Chelsea side who will look to wrap up third place, and with Gonzalo Higuain looking more like the world class finisher he is meant to be, then backing him to score anytime certainly looks an interesting prospect. (GMB odds - Higuain to score in 90 mins 19/10)

LIVERPOOL VS WOLVES

Just like everyone else on Monday night, Liverpool’s attention would have been firmly on the Etihad, and after the final whistle blew, they knew exactly what they needed to do in order to win the Premier League title.

If Jurgen Klopp’s men win on Sunday and Manchester City fail to do so, then it will be the Merseyside outfit who will win a first English championship since 1990, and with 39 previous home league wins, they will be well versed in which to do so.

To have any chance of claiming the title, they are going to have to get the better of Wolves who are now assured a seventh place finish. That said, they do like to mix it with the big boys and will look to cause an upset. (GMB odds - Draw 17/4)

MANCHESTER UNITED VS CARDIFF

On the basis of Manchester United’s last league showing, many will be wondering just how far the rot has actually set in, and after dropping two crucial points away at Huddersfield, their hopes of playing in next season’s Champions League have now ended.

This means that the rebuilding job for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just got that little more difficult and the prospect of playing in the Europa League is one that makes it harder to entice any targets that are currently on their transfer radar.

This Sunday sees them play host to a Cardiff side whose relegation fate was sealed last weekend with a home defeat to Crystal Palace. With that in mind, United should at least be able to end on a high note. (GMB odds - Man U to win to zero 6/5)

SOUTHAMPTON VS HUDDERSFIELD

Southampton and Huddersfield are two clubs that rolled the dice in terms of changing managerial personnel this season, and you only have to look at their respective league placings to see which decision paid off.

For the Saints, it has been a case of resurgence under Ralph Hasenhuttl, while for Huddersfield it has been more about just putting this arduous campaign behind them and hoping for better days in the Championship under the tutelage of Jan Siewert.

Huddersfield may have held Manchester United to a draw last weekend, but at the same time that has been the only bright spark in a bleak 2019. (GMB odds - Southampton half time and full time 1/1)

TOTTENHAM VS EVERTON

As we enter the final day of proceedings, many will be asking the question as to how Tottenham still manage to find themselves in the top four, and in fairness, it is probably something that Mauricio Pochettino has even asked himself.

If their recent form has been indifferent, then thankfully that of Arsenal and Manchester United’s has been little better and therefore this season’s Champions League finalists are now inches away from securing a return to the competition next season.

To do so they just need to avoid a heavy defeat against an Everton side whose hopes of earning a Europa League place ended last weekend. A 4-0 win for the Toffees would be a nightmare scenario for Spurs. (GMB odds - Everton to win 4-0 74/1)

WATFORD VS WEST HAM

After Watford suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Chelsea last weekend, their hopes of earning a Europa League berth via a seventh place finish have evaporated and now it is time to activate their FA Cup backup plan.

This Sunday sees them play host to a West Ham side who are not only hoping to pick up a third successive league win, but in doing so, leapfrog the Hornets and secure themselves a finish in the top half of the table.

If Watford were to slip to 11th it would be quite the fall from grace, although this can obviously be absorbed if they do win the FA Cup on May 18.

With that in mind, their focus may lie on Wembley. (GMB odds - West Ham to win 21/10)
