Lars Sullivan is in hot water at the moment as some controversial comments from his past have been making their rounds on the internet and social media.Sullivan has been under fire recently for some misogynistic and bigoted comments that he made years ago on a Bodybuilding.com message board. The comments have been known about for some time, but they've been making their rounds again after a Reddit post which compiled all the comments together received a response from WWE superstar Big E.The New Day member tweeted his response to the Reddit post showing all of Sullivan's comments when he was asked by a fan if he was aware of it.He said: "Many are aware. If true, he has to bear the albatross of being a bigot & working in a company that is now filled with minorities."

Wrestling Inc has since been issued with a statement by Sullivan himself about the matter, where he has apologized for his past comments.

He said: "There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended."

Despite these comments, WWE hasn't stopped Sullivan from working.

He is currently working SmackDown live events on WWE's tour of Europe. He appeared at a live event earlier this week in Dublin and interfered in two matches, including one involving WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is hopeful that the controversy doesn’t pick up any steam, with their source saying: “they are hoping it stays low and disappears."

Big E isn't the only current WWE superstar to reveal their thoughts on Sullivan's comments, as Kalisto has provided his two cents on the situation as well.

He said in a tweet: "He just needs to get out of my way....I’m Latino....👊🏽"

WWE will be hoping the situation with Sullivan goes away as they're in the middle of a big push for the superstar.

However, this is unlikely to stop any tension between The Freak and other superstars in WWE's locker rooms unless they believe his apology is sincere.
