‘Greatest night ever at Anfield!’

That was Jamie Carragher’s tweet minutes after Liverpool had just booked their place in the Champions League final by beating Barcelona 4-0.

It’s hard to disagree with him, in truth.

Carragher himself has been involved in some pretty special nights inside Liverpool’s stadium.

The defender himself helped the Red reach two Champions League finals in 2005 and 2007, with aggregate victories over Juventus, Chelsea and Barcelona during those two campaigns.

Having played 737 times for the club, Carragher is pretty qualified to be the judge.

However, despite all of those appearances, there’s one man - and one man only - that thinks Carragher wasn’t very good at all.

Step forward El-Hadji Diouf.

The former Liverpool striker has tried to stay relevant since his retirement by constantly criticising both Carragher and Steven Gerrard.

And he’s fired shots at Carragher once again this weekend.

Speaking on BeIN Sports, Diouf claimed that Carragher had ‘two left feet’ and wouldn’t have had the same career of he wasn’t Scouse.

"He was a right-footed player with two left feet. If he wasn't a Scouser, a son of Liverpool, he would never have had the career he did,” Diouf said.

We can’t wait for Carragher’s reply…

It wasn’t as if Diouf’s career was particularly successful.

The Senegalese forward played 80 times for Liverpool, scoring just six goals following his £10 million arrival from Lens.

He was also involved in several shocking incidents, such as spitting at a Celtic fan during a UEFA Cup match.

After leaving Liverpool, Diouf had spells at Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn, Doncaster and Leeds.

Pretty sure Carragher can look back on his career with greater pride than Diouf…
