Manchester City have retained the Premier League title following a 4-1 win against Brighton.Pep Guardiola’s side entered the final day of the season knowing that three points would be enough, and they managed just that.It wasn’t straightforward, though. City fell behind in the first half through Glenn Murray’s header. But goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan earned City the victory they needed and the celebrations promptly followed.Spare a thought for Liverpool, who collected 97 points and lost just one game all season - yet still missed out.

They weren’t to know it, but City needed to win their final 14 league games to be champions. And, extraordinarily, they managed just that.

So it’s two league titles in a row for Guardiola, who has taken to English football extremely well.

Raheem Sterling posts on Twitter

City dominated last season, winning a record-breaking 100 points, and they didn’t let their stands slip this campaign.

And one man who has played a huge part in their success is Raheem Sterling.

Sterling’s development under Guardiola has been phenomenal and he’s finished the season with 17 goals and 10 assists in the league.

The 24-year-old has reacted to City’s latest triumph with a brilliant Twitter post, sharing the ‘Ah sh**, here we go again’ meme from Grand Theft Auto.

When a fan reacted to Sterling’s post by saying he’d kept it in his drafts for a while, the England international seemed to suggest that was indeed the case.

Brilliant.

Sterling has dealt with plenty of criticism throughout his career but he’s dealt with it brilliantly, and we’re now seeing a player who could be considered world class.

He left Liverpool in 2015 because he wanted to win trophies - a decision that he received backlash for - but that’s just what he’s done.

The winger is now a two-time Premier League winner, has won the EFL Cup twice and has a chance to win the FA Cup when City play Watford on May 18.
