It’s easy to forget that Trent Alexander-Arnold is just 20 years old.Liverpool’s first-choice right-back has been excellent this season and was deservedly named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year earlier this month. His assist for Sadio Mane’s second goal against Wolves on Sunday means he’s the first defender in Premier League history to set up 12 goals in a single season.Furthermore, Liverpool probably wouldn’t be in next month’s Champions League final without him.It was the youngster’s quick thinking that led to Divock Origi scoring the Reds’ all-important fourth goal against Barcelona at Anfield last week.

Jurgen Klopp probably wouldn’t swap him for another right-back on the planet right now, and neither would the fans.

The fact that he’s also a local lad is a bonus.

Alexander-Arnold - or simply ’Trent’, as he’s often referred to these days - was spotted whipping in crosses for a few of his mates at the Anfield Road end following the team’s end-of-season lap of honour on Sunday.

A photo of Alexander-Arnold about to strike the ball from the right-wing into the box, where a few of his friends were waiting, has been shared on social media.

That’s class.

As a couple of fans pointed out, Alexander-Arnold just gets what it means to be a Liverpool footballer.

And despite the fact he’s now a top Premier League star, he hasn’t forgotten his roots and his old friends.

"I'm gutted, it is a tough one to take but City proved they are one of the best teams in the world," he told reporters after the match.

"We only lost one game and you expect to win the league. But it is what it is and we go again next year."

But before that, Liverpool have the small matter of the Champions League final to take care of.

The Merseyside outfit take on Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid on June 1.
