The Premier League is over for another season.

But what a season it has been.

Manchester City were able to retain the title with an incredible 98 points.

But they were pushed all the way by Liverpool.

The Reds spent big last summer, with Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita all coming to the club.

While Keita and Shaqiri have had mixed seasons, Alisson and Fabinho have been superb.

Both players have been integral as Liverpool came so close to the Premier League title and could yet win the Champions League.

When looking at the top 10 Premier League signings of the season, they are both certain to make the list.

But what other signings have impressed this campaign?

Here's our top 10 signings of the 2018/19 season:

10) Fabian Schar

Schar can be described as a bargain.

Newcastle paid just £3.5 million for him and that has proven to be money well spent.

The Swiss international missed much of the start of the campaign but his inclusion in the team coincided with an upturn in form for Newcastle.

He was named in the WhoScored's Premier League Team of the Season, with a rating of 7.3.

9) Ricardo Pereira

Ricardo Pereira was one of the best right-back's in Ligue 1 last season, convincing Leicester to pay £17.5m for his services last summer.

And he's had as much success in the Premier League.

A move to one of Europe's elite clubs is on the horizon if he keeps impressing.

8) Fabinho

Fabinho started off the season slowly but he soon showed why Liverpool paid £39 million for his services.

Liverpool were in desperate need of a defensive midfielder last summer and the Brazilian has filled the void perfectly.

He's likely to be a key member for Liverpool for at least the next five years.

7) Lukasz Fabianski

Signed for £7 million this summer, Fabianski has come to West Ham's rescue multiple times this season.

He led the league for saves this season with 148 and was also awarded 'Hammer of the Year'.

6) Joao Moutinho

Moutinho arrived at Wolves with a big pedigree. He was part of Portugal's Euro 2016 winning squad and had made over 100 appearances for his country.

Amazingly, Wolves signed him for just £5 million and that has proven to be a bargain.

Alongside Ruben Neves, Wolves have one of the best midfield's in the league.

While he's only scored once, Moutinho notched eight assists and created 84 chances this season - the fourth most in the Premier League.

5) David Brooks

Brooks was widely coveted last summer after impressing for Sheffield United, but it was Bournemouth who eventually signed him for £11.5 million.

And he was a revelation in his debut season in the Premier League.

Brooks scored seven times and notched six assists in a promising first season with the Cherries.

At just 21 years old, he's only going to get better and better.

4) Lucas Digne

Digne has established himself as one of the best left-back's in the Premier League this season.

While being a capable defender, the Frenchman has also contributed heavily in attack.

He's scored four times and recorded five assists in what has been a successful first season with Everton.

3) Raul Jimenez

Jimenez had failed with Benfica and thus the Portuguese club allowed Wolves to take him on loan this season.

The Mexican striker managed 17 goals in all competitions this season, with 13 of those coming in the Premier League.

His impact was so great that Wolves had no hesitation making his loan move permanent in April, signing him for a club-record £30 million fee.

2) James Maddison

Maddison is another young player who has shined making the step up from the Championship to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has been arguably Leicester's best player this season and is an integral figure in their attack.

He created 100 chances across this season, the most in the Premier League.

He also notched seven goals and seven assists this season, while his form has impressed Gareth Southgate, who called him up to his England squad for the first time last October.

1) Alisson Becker

What a signing Alisson has been.

Liverpool took a huge gamble last summer as they paid Roma £56m for his services.

But he's been a calm presence in goal as he has shown his shot-stopping skills, while also being highly capable with the ball at his feet.

Alisson conceded just 22 goals this season, giving Liverpool the best defence in the league, while his 21 clean sheets saw him win the Golden Glove.

Liverpool have had numerous problems with their goalkeepers in the past decade but Alisson looks as if he will be a reliable presence between the sticks for many years to come.

Honourable mentions: Lucas Torreira, Salomón Rondón, Łukasz Fabiański
