Cristiano Ronaldo stunned the footballing world last summer when he swapped Real Madrid for Juventus in a big money move.

It's fair to say no one saw it coming, and Ronaldo’s fortunes have been mixed since leaving Spain.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner helped Juve reclaim the Serie A title but could do little to prevent Ajax dumping the Italian giants out of Europe at the quarter-final stage.

The Portuguese superstar was brought in to drive Juventus to European glory and looked set to do just that after his heroics in the round of 16 against Atletico Madrid.

Ajax’s exciting band of youngsters ended those dreams though and Ronaldo and co will have to wait until next season to try again.

Ronaldo has netted on 28 occasions in all competitions this season, which by his extremely high standards could be considered a paltry return.

However, he has still received high praise having proved himself in yet another of Europe’s top five leagues.

Now, Ronaldo has proved that not only is he one the finest players to ever play the game, but he is also a wonderful human being too.

News emerged today that Ronaldo made an ill, young fan’s dreams come true by flying him out to Juventus for a tour of the club and a surprise meeting with the five-time European champion.

Ten-year-old Joseph from Bristol has undergone extensive surgeries and therapies after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013.

And, after hearing about young Joseph’s situation, Ronaldo turned his dreams into reality by organising a meeting between the two.

Speaking after a day in which Joseph got to pose for a photo with the man himself while also taking an exclusive tour of the Juventus training ground, Joseph's mother was full of praise for Ronaldo’s brilliant gesture.

“Wow wow wow!” began Joseph’s mum, Kelly.

“We can’t thank you enough for all that you have done to make this happen. The whole experience was incredible and Joseph was overwhelmed with joy.

“He didn’t know he was meeting Cristiano until the moment he appeared and his reaction was all worth it.

“We’ve been spoiled rotten and Ronaldo was so happy to have photos and sign our things. Again thank you it’s been amazing!”

Lovely, lovely stuff.

Well done to Ronaldo for making yet another fans dreams come true.
