We often talk about the unifying power of football.Whatever your allegiances, whoever you support, there are some moments we can all collectively get behind.Mike Dean being spotted in the away end during Forest Green Rovers vs Tranmere is one of them. For the two teams in question, the League Two play-off was the pinnacle of their season so far.The spoils were shared in the second leg with James Norwood cancelling out Joseph Mills' opener.

That result means it's Tranmere who are heading to Wembley with a 2-1 win on aggregate.

Of course, all that has been overshadowed somewhat by the real story of the night.

It was a momentous occasion for Tranmere fans, who can count among their number the celebrity ref himself. The man, the myth, the legend.

He was absolutely loving it

When the final whistle went at The New Lawn, Dean hoisted himself up on a rail and went mad:

After some of his more, shall we say, dubious decisions, plenty of football fans have posed the questions of who exactly he supports.

Well, there you have it. Dean is an avid Tranmere fan.

Referees aren't technically supposed to have a team of their own, at least not openly, but who is to tell him that? He does what he wants.

It almost goes without saying that this isn't the first time the 50-year-old has brought the spotlight upon himself in recent weeks.

In fact, only a week ago, he was up to his old tricks during Manchester City's pivotal 1-0 win over Leicester.

Vincent Kompany's goal had all but sealed the game but, in the dying seconds, Dean spent as long as possible spraying lines on the pitch before a free-kick.

Then, before City had even had a chance to take it, he blew the whistle.

Never change, Mike. And more of the same when Tranmere get to Wembley, please.
