Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-final this season captivated the world of football.

Watching a young side compete with and defeat Europe's elite reminded fans across the globe that the game is still not all about money.

The likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Donny van de Beek were brought through Ajax's exquisite academy, while others were signed for a mere pittance.

Hakim Ziyech, Frenkie de Jong, Nicolas Tagliafico, David Neres and Dusan Tadic were just some of the bargain buys that helped transform Ajax into the most exciting team on the planet.

Sadly, the team that Erik ten Hag created will be torn apart this summer, with De Jong already going to Barcelona for around €75m.

De Ligt is expected to join his international colleague in Catalonia, while Van de Beek, Neres and Ziyech are all heavily linked with summer exits.

It will be a shame to see them all depart the Dutch capital, but the Eredivisie champions-in-waiting will do what they always do after; promote some new young stars.

And one teenage prodigy who could be the next big hit in Amsterdam is Brian Brobbey, a 17-year-old striker who is dominating the youth leagues in Holland.

If you take one look at his profile on Transfermarkt, you can see why he is so highly rated.

Amsterdam-born Brobbey has 26 goals and six assists in just 24 games for Ajax's U17 side.

Upon his promotion to the U19 side, he continued his ridiculous form by scoring 34 times and assisting six more in just 36 games.

In the UEFA Youth League, he has four goals in his six appearances.

Brobbey has made two appearances for Ajax Jong - the club's U21 side - and has failed to find the back of the net, but that will surely not deter Ten Hag from handing him first-team opportunities.

Oh, he's also prolific for Holland's U17 side, scoring 16 times in 22 appearances and helping the team win the UEFA European U17s Championship.

Could 2019/20 be his breakthrough year?
