The WBC have reportedly ordered the Tyson Fury and the Dillian Whyte to face each other with the winner to challenge current WBC champion Deontay Wilder. However, Fury has said that the proposed meet in the ring with Whyte will not be going ahead.Initially, Fury ruled out the prospect of facing Whyte as he already turned down the opportunity to face Wilder in a rematch and didn't see the point of competing in an eliminator.Whyte, 31, was keen for the match-up to happen, but declared that he wasn’t confident that the fight between the two would ever materialise. But the Gypsy King has made a dramatic U-turn on his decision, and would now welcome a fight against Whyte should the WBC ‘diamond’ belt be on the line.

He will agree to a bout with Whyte if the WBC switch the contest from an eliminator to a fight for their diamond belt, which is traditionally awarded to the winner of a high profile showdown not involving the full belt holder.

The 30-year-old has promised to demolish Whyte before agreeing a big money rematch with Wilder – but only if the WBC diamond belt is on the line.

Early on Tuesday morning, Fury posted his pledge to the WBC on Instagram: “I just want to say a special message to the WBC, who supported me in my comeback and been very fair with me over the years.

“I recently saw your quote about fighting for the interim title against Dillian Whyte and I'm very thankful for the opportunity.

“But what I suggest is, because I beat Deontay Wilder and we all know what happened, I didn't get the decision, but I still won and the world knows.

"I propose that we make me and Dillian Whyte for the WBC diamond belt and not the interim belt.

“I’ll take care of Dillian Whyte and I’ll knock him out within six rounds.

“Make it for the diamond belt not the interim version and you’ve got a deal. Let's get it on!"

Whyte wasted no time to respond to Fury's message on Instagram, writing: "Let's do it then.

“I'd fight you anytime anywhere seven days a week and five times on Sunday. I look forward to putting you to sleep.”

Fury is currently preparing to face unbeaten German Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas next month, while Whyte is in action against Colombian Oscar Rivas at the O2 Arena on July 20 as he targets his first world title contest.
