The euphoria that surrounded Manchester United during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 11-match unbeaten run was a feeling that the club’s fans hadn’t felt in a while. The Norwegian made the perfect start to his interim role following Jose Mourinho’s departure last December, with Man United playing a more attractive style of football and getting results. And the mood was lifted even further on March 3.Solskjaer took his United side to Paris Saint-Germain for the return leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie without many people actually believing they could turn around a 2-0 deficit. But when Marcus Rashford fired home the winning penalty in the fourth-minute of stoppage time, it was inevitable that Solskjaer would be given the job on a permanent basis.

“Man United might not thank me, but get the contract out, put it on the table, let him sign it,” a jubilant Rio Ferdinand said after the win.

“Ole’s at the wheel man, he’s doing his thing. Man United are back!”

Ole's at the wheel tattoo

One United supporter took his excitement even further.

Tor Henrik Stensland (@Toricharito) vowed to get a tattoo of Solskjaer’s face inside a wheel if he could oversee the comeback against PSG - and he delivered on his promise.

“Ole’s at the wheel! Before the away game vs PSG I tweeted that if Man Utd went through I would tattoo Solskjaer’s face inside a wheel,” Tor wrote.

“Well, I’m a man of my words. I went all in. Here’s the result. Enjoy 😂."

Tor posted a second photo after many people, quite hilariously, pointed out to him that Solskjaer looked more like an elf.

Others also suggested he looks like Gollum from Lord of the Rings.

Just. Incredible.

Considering how United’s season ended, Tor may just be regretting his decision.

The final weeks of the season were miserable for United, who missed out on a Champions League spot after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

Indeed, there are already suggestions that Solskjaer shouldn’t be behind the wheel.
