Man Utd's Ander Herrera set to earn £300k-per-week once he signs for PSG

Ander Herrera looks like he is off to PSG

Ander Herrera has been one of the few players for Manchester United this season to actually show some fight out on the pitch.

The Spaniard played an integral role in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's impressive start at the club and the Red Devils' form tailed off once the former Athletic Bilbao man picked up an injury.

Due to his obvious importance to the side, Herrera was demanding a pretty significant wage increase in order to sign a contract extension.

But United refused to meet his demands and officially confirmed last week that the 29-year-old will be leaving the club in the summer.

It is not yet confirmed who his next club will be, but the general consensus is that he will sign a lucrative contract with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

And the Mirror have now revealed just how lucrative that deal with the French side will be.

Herrera will be pocketing around £300,000-a-week in Paris.

That's an astronomical amount, even in the modern day and it will make him one of PSG's highest earners.

United's fear was that offering Herrera that kind of wage would prove detrimental to the club in the long-run.

Herrera after the loss vs Cardiff

The Red Devils have already damaged morale in the dressing room by handing a 30-year-old Alexis Sanchez around £500,000-a-week.

Then there is the fact that Herrera is approaching the tail-end of his career and has struggled with injuries throughout his time at Old Trafford.

Herrera recently spoke very highly of Solskjaer, stating the he believes he is the man to lead the revolution at the club.

“He is one of the best people I have ever met in football. Everyone loves him in the dressing room. Everyone wants to fight for him,” he said.

Solskjaer waves to the Man Utd fans

“When you have the players behind you and wanting to fight for you, part of the job is done. I believe in karma and if you are a good person, if you are honest and sincere with the players and the fans, sooner or later it will work.

“I think Ole is the right person because he has qualities and knowledge but, also, he is a great man and a great person.”
