UFC fans have been starved of a dream heavyweight clash between champion Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar this summer, but the hopes of a third fight between DC and arch enemy Jon Jones lives on.Both men will have to get through title defences first; Jones faces Thiago Santos for the light heavyweight strap at UFC 239, then the following month Cormier will take on Stipe Miocic in a UFC 226 rematch. Many UFC fans want to see a trilogy clash between 'Bones' and Cormier happen at heavyweight, even Dana White would like to see it happen.Looks like that's everyone apart from Jones himself.Speaking to retired MMA fighter Dan Hardy, Jones has distanced himself from stepping up a class to face Cormier.

“I’m a realist, Daniel Cormier is a special athlete and anyone can be beat. I think my greatest chance of losing would be to a guy like Daniel Cormier," said Jones.

"We’d be giving him a power and strength advantage over me; it just doesn’t make sense.”

“Right now, I make light heavyweight very easily, and it would just make no sense to fight a guy who, I think, technically [is] on your level and to give him a size advantage.

“I’m not doing it. I’m sure my fans don’t like to hear me talk like that, but that’s just me being a realist - and being respectful of Daniel’s abilities.”

To be fair to Jones, Cormier also stated he would like to come back down to light heavyweight and take Jones' title back off him.

But the stature of Jones makes it so obvious to jump into the heavyweight division for the first time.

Additionally, Jones himself doesn't believe that Cormier will step down to 205 once again to risk a third defeat.

In a stint of verbals directed at up-and-comer Israel Adesanya, Jones declared himself 'king of the jungle' - surely if that was the case he would have no qualms stepping up to try and become a two-weight champion?
