Gareth Southgate has named his England squad for the UEFA Nations League finals.Captain Harry Kane has been included despite still recovering from an ankle injury.Southgate has admitted that preparations for England’s semi-final clash against the Netherlands have been complicated by an all-English Champions League final.England take on Ronald Koeman’s side in Portugal on June 6, just five days after Liverpool and Tottenham meet in Madrid."This is a challenge we have to deal with as a group of staff," Southgate said, per BBC Sport.

This is an exciting time for the national side, with plenty of young talent making their way into recent squads.

And that is the case with Southgate’s latest squad for the semi-final and, potentially, the final.

England’s squad

The 48-year-old, who led England to the World Cup semi-final last summer, opened up on the need to adapt to many of his players appearing in the Champions League final.

"For our young English players it is great that they are playing in matches that really matter while under pressure and they are being really successful because that will help England in the long run," he added.

"Although it makes our preparation a bit more complicated, that is a challenge that we have to deal with as a group of staff. We have got to adapt. We are always telling our players to adapt so we have got to do the same. We can still prepare the team for the game with Holland."

Southgate resisted temptation to call up any players from the England Under-21s, who are preparing for the European Championship in Italy.

That means no Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Phil Foden, James Maddison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the squad.

Portugal and Switzerland will meet in the other semi-final, to be played on June 5.

The final will be on June 9.
