Shrewsbury have extended Mat Sadler's loan stay from Watford until the end of the season.

Shrews boss Graham Turner revealed after Monday's 1-0 home to defeat to Crewe - the last game of Sadler's initial six-month spell - he was confident a deal would be agreed.

Sadler has established himself as Shrews' first-choice left-back since arriving in the summer, making 26 starts.

The 25-year-old told Town's official website: "It's great news that we've been able to get things all sorted out and that I'm staying with Shrewsbury until the end of the season.

"I've really enjoyed my time here and it`s a great club to be playing football at with a great set of lads.

"We can all now concentrate on putting things right after the Crewe game and getting ourselves back up into those automatic promotion slots."
