Qatar and Japan will also compete in this year’s Copa America.Brazil, who are seeking their first Copa America title since 2007, announced their squad on Friday.Fabinho and Lucas Moura are among the big names to miss out on selection by Brazil boss Tite. Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, who has missed a lot of recent games through injury, also misses the cut.

However, one player who is part of the squad is Everton forward Richarlison.

The 22-year-old, who has made a decent impact in English football since joining Watford from Fluminense in 2017, has scored three goals in eight appearances for the Seleção.

And his performances at international level have convinced Tite to find room in his 23-man squad alongside fellow forwards Neymar, David Neres, Everton (of Gremio), Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus.

Richarlison faces stiff competition for a place in Brazil’s starting line-up this summer but, judging by his reaction to the news of his call-up, he won’t care whether he’s in the XI or on the bench - he’ll just be happy to be there.

Watching the announcement alongside relatives at his grandparents’ house, Richarlison is filmed watching the TV intently before his name his read out.

He then jumps up and celebrates wildly, along with everyone else in the room.

What a beautiful moment. That’s what football’s all about.

Richarlison has enjoyed a decent season for the Toffees, scoring 14 goals - 13 of which have come in the Premier League - in 38 appearances.

But Everton may have their work holding on to their No. 30 if he lights up this summer’s Copa America in his home country.
