Cristiano Ronaldo’s first season at Juventus ended in domestic glory as he helped the Turin side secure yet another Serie A title.Ronaldo made the unexpected switch to the Italian giant’s last summer with Juve desperate to finally end their Champions League voodoo. However, even Ronaldo could do little to stop an inspired Ajax team from dumping Juve out of Europe’s premier club competition at the quarter-final stage. It could be argued though, that without Ronaldo they would have never made it that far after the Portuguese scored a sublime hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 to secure a remarkable come-from-behind win.The 34-year-old netted 28 goals in all competitions throughout the season as he proved he could get the business done in another of Europe’s top leagues.

Thanks to Ronaldo’s goalscoring escapades, Juve cruised to the title and are 13 points ahead of second-placed Napoli with two games to play.

It is the perfect send-off for outgoing coach Massimiliano Allegri, who announced that he will be leaving the Juve hot seat at the end of the season.

Allegri was appointed in the summer of 2014 and created one of the greatest dynasty’s Italian football has ever witnessed.

Since his appointment, Juve won five consecutive Serie A titles as well as four consecutive Coppa Italia titles.

In fact, it was only this week that Allegri finally relinquished his stranglehold on Italian silverware after Lazio won the Coppa in Wednesday night’s final against Atalanta.

While he may have never conquered Europe, there can be no questioning the fact that Allegri is one of the finest Italian managers to have graced the game.

That fact has only been strengthened today after Ronaldo tweeted a classy farewell message to his one-season boss.

Translated the tweet reads:

“Thank you Mister! We lived a single year together but it was awesome because besides being a great coach you are a great man. It’s been a pleasure working with you!”

Lovely stuff.

Ronaldo knows just how good Allegri was at his job and the 51-year-old is going to be frightfully difficult to replace.

Whoever takes up his mantle will be desperate to guide the Italians to the European glory the Juve faithful crave.

With Ronaldo leading your line, you can never rule it out.
