Manchester City made it a clean sweep of domestic silverware on Saturday when they battered Watford right out of Wembley, smashing six passed the hapless Hornets. With the Premier League trophy and the Carabao Cup already safely tucked away in the Etihad trophy cabinet, Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut simply blew Watford away to become the first team to ever win a domestic treble. It was a second-half bloodbath at the national stadium as City ran away with the final thanks to a brace apiece from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, as well as goals from Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva. The Citizens were made to work hard for their Premier League title win last week, but the Cup final proved to be an absolute breeze as they waltzed their way to yet another trophy. It was party football for the champions, especially when De Bruyne came on with 35 minutes to play. The Belgian pass-master was at his scintillating best and was even named man-of-match despite only coming on in the second half.Sterling was simply sublime as well and you can be sure his cup final double will live long in the memory. However, despite producing one of his best displays in a City shirt, Sterling still got an earful from Guardiola during the on-field celebrations. The two were caught in the midst of what looked to be quite a passionate discussion, with Guardiola seemingly unhappy with something that happened during the game.

Well then.

Even tw goals in a cup final aren’t enough to please Guardiola - and that is exactly what separates him from the rest.

The Spaniard’s pursuit of perfection is intense and relentless and he will be desperate to finally conquer Europe next season.

If the above footage is anything to go by, Guardiola firmly believes his side is capable of more.

The fact that this City side can only get better is a scary thought.

Quadruple next season, anyone?
