Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are dominating English football right now.The Citizens may have been pushed all the way in the Premier League title race by Liverpool, but their ability to win their final 14 games of the season highlighted the ridiculous strength they possess.Guardiola's side have won five domestic trophies in the last two seasons after completing the first ever English treble in the history of the men's game yesterday.City thrashed Watford 6-0 at Wembley in the most one-sided FA Cup final probably ever seen.Raheem Sterling (2), Gabriel Jesus (2), Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva scored the goals and it could have been more.

Guardiola has created possibly the greatest squad in the history of the game, but City's failure to win the Champions League will still have many doubting them as one of the finest ever teams.

However, the manager is adamant that winning a domestic treble is harder than conquering Europe's elite competition.

"I love the Champions League, but to [win the domestic treble] is more difficult than to win the Champions League," Guardiola said.

"It's one of the best seasons I have experienced as a manager. I wouldn't say the best, but one of the best for sure.

"To be the first to win the treble means that if one team is able to do that then another team will repeat it sooner or later. Winning four titles is something incredible."

Real Madrid may beg to differ after winning three on the spin between 2016 and 2018.

As will Liverpool, who have reached the last two finals - a stage City are yet to play on.

Guardiola's failures in Europe with both Bayern Munich and City have been well documented, with the Spaniard not winning the Champions League since 2011.

He lost two semi-finals with Bayern in 2014 to Real and Barcelona, but has yet to make even the final four with City.

Deep down, Guardiola will want that trophy back in his hands more than any domestic accolade...
