Sheffield Wednesday's teenage midfielder Liam Palmer has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the club.

The 19-year-old, who has committed himself to Hillsborough until the summer of 2013, has worked his way through the club's academy and made his first-team breakthrough in the Carling Cup against Bury in August.

Palmer has yet to start a league game for the Owls, but has made four substitute appearances.
